Music that somehow, for some reason, feels funky.
A heat the body responds to before the mind can understand it.
A rolling bassline that cannot be contained by a neatly classified genre name.
A sticky beat.
The roughness of a voice.
The humidity left between sounds.
An impulse that keeps touching the listener, even when the sound around it keeps changing.

That is the funk I know and love - not just a fixed shape to be followed.

This album gathers the night studio sessions that led to Velvet Funky JAM.
Velvet Funky JAM, released in 2025, was the first EP to step out from this body of sessions.
Acid beats.
Rolling basslines.
The languid air of lounge jazz.
The drive of house and trance.
And over sounds that can hardly be called funk at all, a husky voice as a "voice that touches" - giving off heat, and longing for heat.
Even when the sound changes, the heat remains.

The sources, the connections, the detours, and the heat of those sessions are preserved here.
