Hirai New Single Shakuyaku

I could never say I like you until the very end

From the school hallway in the morning to the bicycle parking area after class and the flowers blooming in the schoolyard
This song portrays a growing unspoken love hidden within ordinary everyday moments

Built around warm acoustic guitar sounds and emotional band arrangements the song combines heartfelt lyrics with a bittersweet atmosphere that brings back memories of young love

For anyone who has ever had feelings they could not put into words
I hope this song reaches your heart

Artist Profile

  • -HIRAI-

Born on August 22, 2000, in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, HIRAI is a singer-songwriter currently based in Tokyo. In 2021, he moved from his hometown of Shiga to Tokyo. While attending vocational school, a singing video he posted on TikTok gained attention, helping him build a growing audience through social media. Today, he has more than 40,000 followers across his social media platforms, including over 11,800 followers on Instagram. Through street performances, live events, and social media, he continues to share his music with audiences across Japan. While pursuing music, HIRAI also worked as a hairstylist. In late 2023, he left the profession and made the decision to dedicate himself fully to his career as a singer-songwriter. During junior high school, HIRAI stopped attending school after struggling to adjust following a move. At one of the lowest points in his life, he discovered music and began to sing. He realized that through music, he could honestly express how he felt. That experience became the foundation of everything he does today. Drawing from his own experiences, HIRAI carries the message: Just being alive is enough. Bringing you hope to keep living. Alongside his music career, he is committed to supporting others through music. He performs at facilities that support children who are unable to attend school, visits children's homes, and gives talks and live performances at school-refusal support facilities. His first original song, Muchi, was written as a message to his younger self and to those who may be struggling with similar feelings. The song has surpassed 1 million UGC and short-form video views and 50,000 streams, milestones recognized by TuneCore Japan. An Instagram Reel featuring Muchi has reached over 682,000 views, while more than 1,500 TikTok posts have used the song. Its official music video on YouTube has surpassed 12,000 views, and the song has also received multiple airplays on FM radio stations across Japan. HIRAI continues to actively release original music, perform at live events and street performances throughout Japan, and connect with listeners through social media. His ultimate goal is to perform at the Nippon Budokan. Just as music once gave him hope, HIRAI now hopes that his own songs can become a source of hope for someone else. With that purpose in his heart, he continues to sing and share his music every day.
