The Ruke was formed in 1983 in Kyoto by a man who was blown away by the sound of the Roosters, Japanese rock band. The Ruke performed at live concerts at Jittoku, Seibu-Kodo Hall of Kyoto University and CBGB inspired by the Kyoto music scene such as Murahachibu, Vampire!, Doctor and Rosa Luxemburg. Their song titled "Long Skirt" was recorded in the compilation album called "Get Ready, Rock Steady" released in 1989 by Gator Wobble Records. The Ruke once went on a hiatus in 1989 and was reunited in 1997 in Tokyo. The Ruke has released the first album titled "Light Blue Stripe" in 2004. Since then the band continues the musical activities and now released the second album titled "Zukkoro Bridge Love Affair" in 2023.
