Kohei Tsuburaya is a singer-songwriter and certified weather forecaster based in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. He began vocal training at the age of 25 while working as a full-time professional, and later started posting cover performances on TikTok in 2021. In February 2023, he made his streaming debut with his first album, "imua," followed by his second album, "pono." His music is characterized by a soft voice that reaches into a high vocal range, and lyrics that capture small emotions hidden in everyday life. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Tohoku, seasonal changes, quiet nights after work, and memories around the dining table, he creates songs with a strong sense of story. His song "Kimi ga Ite Yokatta" charted in the Apple Music J-Pop Top Music Video rankings in multiple countries and regions. Recent works include "Saigo no Hanabi wa Kimi Datta," a J-pop ballad set against the Sendai Tanabata Festival and Tohoku's fleeting summer, and "Anata no Gourmet," a song about the warmth that remains in everyday meals. Through these works, he continues to explore not only bittersweet emotions, but also the quiet warmth that helps bring a day to a gentle close.
