The children born in the Heisei era are now grown-ups. I'm getting old too. I'm thinking that maybe human beings are allowed to stay on this planet because we are imperfect. If we go to another planet, we'll be in trouble. I'm surprised that pestilence, primitive violence, and outright falsehoods still have so much power, but maybe we can't go beyond that. Because humans have a life span. Maybe there's a little hope only in the imperfect beauty of that life.
