Following their July release of 'Jukai', the five-piece band Super Climbing Club, based in Aichi, have released their new single 'Itadaki'!
Focusing on simplicity and the resonance of the vocals, this track features an intro characterised by polyrhythms created through a three-beat, two-note backing and an eight-beat drum pattern. Furthermore, a modulation to a parallel key enriches the melody line while emphasising the lyrical theme.
While their previous work "Jukai" involved numerous collaborators, this time the five band members handled everything themselves. By undertaking the lyrics, composition, arrangement, recording, and mixing themselves, they achieved a cohesive work. The lyrics are centred around core experiences: witnessing the sunrise at Mount Shirouma and climbing beneath the starry sky at Mount Tsurugi. The emotions and insights gained through these encounters with nature are woven into the lyrics.
The phrase "Thinking it's the summit, you approach only to realise the path continues, and you feel disheartened (yet relieved)" symbolises the false peaks encountered in mountaineering, expressing the difficulties of life and achieving goals.
Formed in 2023, Super Climbing Club is a five-piece band based in Aichi. True to their name, they balance their band activities with mountain climbing, performing at mountain huts around 3,000 meters and in live music venues, and are energetically pursuing their music while building up their stamina. With Yu Ishihama handling the band's artwork and merchandise design, and Tomoyuki Oda's compositions blending diverse genres and free-spirited musicality, they stimulate the listener's imagination and offer stories that evoke images of nature and scenery. Combined with Hina's emotionally rich, transparent, and expansive voice like the wind, they pursue a unique path centered on the concept of 'Mountains'× music, continuing their traverse toward the summit.
