"Nozui 1300"
is a piece born from the
Dictionary Journey, Calligraphy, and Music project,
originating from the concept of "brain" in the Japanese syllabary "no."
Something that moves before thought.
Faster than righteousness, quieter than prayer.
The simple fact that humans
live before they think
is gently lifted and shaped
through words and sound.
Kneeking Records is an independent music label that translates The Dictionary Journey into sound. The label was founded by Yoshihiro Sato, a calligrapher, a lifelong dictionary traveler, and a former kickboxing world champion. Since 2013, Yoshihiro has been reading dictionaries one page at a time writing, reflecting, and quietly documenting each newly discovered word. In 2025, these accumulated records began to take musical form. The Dictionary Journey is an ongoing exploration. With each passing day, new words are encountered, and their traces continue to grow steadily and without end. Kneeking Records spans a wide range of genres, including Reggae, J-Pop, R&B, Soul, House, Gospel, Funk, Ska, and at times, Punk Rock. While honoring the natural rhythm of language, the label pursues sound that is both refined and deeply listenable transforming the voice descending from calligraphy into music. That is the sound of Kneeking Records.
