THE BOY, an artist who never settles in one place and keeps changing, will release his new single THE TORNADO on Thursday, March 12th. THE BOY is a singer-songwriter whose unique sense of composition and sound is unlike anything else Japanese, and who has been attracting attention from overseas audiences, especially on SoundCloud. He completed a new arrangement of a song he wrote when he was 17 years old. For this single, THE BOY not only wrote the lyrics and composed the music, but also recorded, mixed, designed the jacket cover, and created the music video all by himself at his parents' house. This work was created as an homage to rave culture, and is a cool, psychedelic track based on house beat. The thick, massive bass sound is layered with mysterious funk guitar, creating a groove. I want you to actually "experience" this acoustics. MV for this track will be released on THE BOY's official YouTube channel on the release date. The B-side is a cool and experimental track ALCOHOLIC PILLOW. A chilly and emotional rock. Rock never dies. It will live on in us forever...

THE BOY
THE BOY is the solo project of a Japanese singer-songwriter Akihisa Ota, born in 1985. He started his musical career in 2002. In 2002, when he was 17 years old, he began writing original songs using guitar and piano and recording them using a 4-track recorder. From the beginning, he has been creating music and doing all other work by himself at his parents' home in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, and that hasn't changed to this day. His distinctive feature is that he creates a wide variety of music without being bound by genre. He began applying for various auditions when he was around 20 years old, and began performing live in his late 20s, based in Nagoya. During this time, he also experienced his dream of performing live in New York, where he performed at a small festival and was asked for an encore for the first time in his life. However, in his early 30s, he developed epilepsy in addition to the mental illness he had been suffering from, and was forced to give up live performances. Since then, he has focused his activities on promotion and distribution via the Internet.
