Jorj Wilfrid, raised in Tokyo, absorbed the cultures of New York and Paris from an early age due to his family's exposure to the NFL, hip-hop, US cartoons, and art. In college, he delved into linguistics, exploring not only language but also human nature. His studies deepened his appreciation for how language enriches existing elements and transforms them into something new, prompting reflection on fundamental human needs like food, clothing, and shelter. Reflecting on his career path, he discovered a passion for blending diverse cultural influences. Tokyo, with its intricate mix of tradition and foreign elements, revealed itself to him as a unified masterpiece, enriching his global perspective. Reflecting on his career, he realized his passion for blending diverse cultures. During his life in Tokyo, he was exposed to international cultures, absorbing what he found interesting about them and adding it to his sensitivity. At first glance, Tokyo seemed to be a complicated mixture of tradition and foreign cultures. He later realized that this mixture is the beauty of the city and that it is akin to a total artwork. The different elements appear distinct but are interconnected, forming a cohesive whole. He founded the total artwork brand JOTY JOYC based on his favorite genres of clothing, artwork, photography, film, and sound. His mission was to produce refined work, regardless of the era, using a design language called Miyabi, which means refinement in English. His design language, Miyabi, is a Japanese aesthetic value characterized by simplicity, imperfection, and sophistication. Five keywords supporting this design language are dignity, gravity, solemnity, urbanity, and intrepidity. These five keywords form the basis of his production. He uses his work to express his values and beliefs. He produces his work with the belief that it is possible to make a change in the world if we remain true to ourselves and continue to advance despite our uncertainties. Through these values, he communicates his beliefs to those who see his work. His work embodies the conviction that the world will change if we stay true to ourselves and progress despite our doubts. Using his design language of Miyabi, Jorj Wilfrid, the total artwork artist of JOTY JOYC, produces work which is refined and is considered a special brand by some people.
