Reugene's latest single "Yona Yona" features two songs, the title track "Yona Yona" and "I just look at my home". Featuring producer Eugene Takino, with whom Reugene has been collaborating since the beginning of his career, "Yona Yona" presents a new musical challenge for Reugene.
Yona Yona" is a remix of "Untitled No.36" released three years ago. The song features the participation of talented musicians such as Rei Ueno (drums), Sho Morita (bass), and Shinichiro Chinone (keyboard), whose combined experience has evolved into a more profound sound. Meanwhile, "I just look at my home" was produced by NS-VATA, a beat maker who also belongs to Suigetsu -MITSUKI-, which is gaining attention in the Tokyo club scene. The sophisticated groove of the song supports the music and intertwines perfectly with Reugene's lyrics.
The two songs, with their opposite tensions in beats and lyrics, depict the flow of the mind from the past, present, and future from the perspectives of "yang" and "hid. Sometimes delving into their own inner selves, and sometimes looking at the environment and people around them, they tenderly and poignantly vent their emotions.
Reugene's dialogue between "time" and "heart" is a work that demands attention for its depth.
