Rapper maco marets has released his seventh album "Unready" on the self-label Woodlands Circle.
This album is the first time in 4 years that maco marets has teamed up with producer Riki Azuma (Small Circle of Friends/STUDIO75), who track maked and engineered all of the songs on his first three albums, including his debut "Orang.Pendek" released in 2016. The album "Unready" contains four singles and eight newly recorded songs, for a total of 12 tracks.
The album consists of minimal and smooth hip-hop tracks by Riki Azuma and raps by maco marets, without any guest artists other than guitarist Taisuke Miyata (South Penguin support, etc.), and Buoy who participates as a chorus singer. The result is a stoic work that is truly worthy of being called a "return to the roots".
As the title "Unready" suggests, the lyrics are carefully written as if to reconsider the nature of the words they express while looking at the various aspects of our chaotic times, and throughout the album, a universal human figure with doubts emerges. This is an excellent work of post-Corona music that should be listened to now, as it will invite a moment of quiet introspection from each listener.
