山切修二（Vocal/Guitar） 神田智（Vocal/Guitar/Bass） 高校時代の同級生だった二人は、1997年に上京して、2003年まで共に音楽活動を行なった。 それぞれの活動を経て2016年に再始動。42歳からの再スタートで「まず二人が楽しむ為」という意味でユニット名を「for 2」と命名。　かつての活動でレコーディングしなかった曲を詰めたアルバム「2442」を発売。その際に作曲した「名前」を、2024年に再レコーディングし、シングルとして配信リリースする。

    Shuji and Tomo have been friends since high school, and after acting together in a duo in their 20s, they started working as a duo again at the age of 42. They named the duo for 2 meaning that they started again at the age of 42, and also because they wanted to have fun for them. namae is a love song in which their respective voices intertwine, and is the most popular song among fans.
