Tokyo's premier heavy-rock architects Looprider have officially announced the release of their third studio album, LOVE, out April 15, 2026. Arriving three years after their last metamorphosis, the album marks a definitive turning point for the band, signaling both a "love letter" to their ten-year history and a scorched-earth departure from their past.
The road to LOVE was forged through internal upheaval. Following the 2025 departure of longtime guitarist Haruka, founding member Ryotaro retreated into the studio with drummer Ryo7, to capture a raw, unshielded creative urgency.
The struggle resulted in a vital evolution: the addition of new guitarist and vocalist Tacchi. Her entry has restored the band's signature "twin-guitar" architecture, re-establishing Looprider as a formidable, bassless power trio. By routing his baritone guitar through a dual-rig of bass and Hiwatt stacks, Ryotaro continues to anchor the band's massive low-end, now bolstered by Tacchi's "fuzz-drenched" energy.
Recorded at Studio CHAOSK with engineer Taka Kubo, LOVE rejects the sterile perfection of modern metal. The band intentionally eschewed click tracks, opting for an organic, breathing groove that mirrors the volatility of human emotion.
The record features a striking collaboration with Shoko, vocalist of the acclaimed Tokyo shoegaze outfit COLLAPSE, who provides a delicate, ethereal counterpoint to the band's crushing walls of noise on "Crush" and "Elegy."
The album title stands as a provocative irony against the music's sheer volume. LOVE explores the full spectrum of human attachment - from pure devotion to the inevitable rot of hatred and loss. Following the spiritual cycles of Ouroboros and Metamorphose, this new chapter finds Looprider digging through the rubble of a fractured world to find a new beginning.
