Fushimi Vermilion Loop

Makino Band

    Lyric

Fuzz-drenched nostalgia echoing across historic Kyoto.

Koto Distortion is the defining concept album from Japanese alternative rock outfit Makino Band. Infusing the urgent, emotive guitar drive of 2000s Japanese indie rock with the timeless atmosphere of Kyoto, the 8-track record crafts an immersive sonic journey through historic streets, riverside twilight, and late-night undergrounds.

Anchored by standout anthems like "Kyoto Comeback" and "Demachi Delta Steps," soaring fuzz guitars collide with dynamic rhythmic arrangements and poetic introspection. Koto Distortion stands as a tribute to raw alternative rock ethos and the vivid emotional geography of Japans ancient capital.
