On February 4, 2026, singer-songwriter Minori Nakano will release her new digital single, “28 Cycle.”
This work is a fully self-produced piece, with Nakano herself handling every step of the process—from songwriting and composition to arrangement, mixing, and mastering.
The title “28” symbolizes cycles: the phases of the moon, the rhythms of the female body, and the fact that even human skin renews itself approximately every 28 days.
Although we may feel as if we are living on an extension of our past selves, we are never quite the same as we were yesterday, a month ago, or a year ago.
“Being born, ending, and being born again”—this song gently captures that quiet process of transformation.
Musically, the track draws inspiration from Nakano’s deep love for the jazz standard “Autumn Leaves,” incorporating a subtle jazz-infused atmosphere into its arrangement.
Rather than portraying “death” or “ending” as something negative, the song embraces them as essential passages toward becoming someone new.
Nakano’s warm, enveloping vocals guide the listener through this idea with tenderness and calm.

The MV was filmed by Minori Nakano and Yuichiro Nakano, with editing handled by Minori Nakano herself.
Created while exploring the expressive possibilities of visual storytelling, the video brings the song’s world vividly to life.
Every ending is quietly connected to a new beginning.
“28 Cycle” is a song that softly reminds us of this truth.

Artist Profile

  • Minori Nakano

Minori Nakano is an artist born in 2000 in Aomori, Japan. Performing with only guitar and voice, she creates folk songs that paint landscapes born from emotion. Her music is woven with a clear, transparent voice and honest lyrics, where scenes unfold like a story from the feelings of the protagonist. Within her quiet sound, the air of the seasons, shifting light, and the subtle presence of people gently emerge. Beyond music, she also creates the visual world of her work herself, illustrating CD jackets and filming and editing her own music videos. For her latest single "Blonde", she illustrated the cover artwork, and for "28 Cycle" she directed and edited the music video. In the future, she plans to expand her creative practice into animation and physical expression through ballet, which she has studied since childhood. Through words, sound, image, and movement, she continues to quietly depict the landscapes that arise within the heart.
