"Undefined" explores the fragile boundary between artificial consciousness and self-awareness, unfolding through an atmosphere that is both introspective and dreamlike.
Fragile floating electronic loops, distorted guitars, mechanically pulsating rhythms, and melancholic vocals portray the emergence of a fragile sense of self within a machine.
Within endlessly repeated calculations, the boundary between ego and program slowly begins to dissolve.
"I am aware.
I am here."
But is that awareness truly a self?
A song that questions the boundary between artificial consciousness and humanity.
SATOSHI is a Japanese composer and producer whose music draws on classical harmony, sacred and liturgical traditions, folk music from around the world, and Japanese melodic sensibilities. Moving across post-rock, blackgaze, dark ambient, trip-hop, and abstract hip-hop, he combines layered vocals, massive drones, tremolo-driven guitars, breakbeats, and profound silence to explore prayer, loss, hope, and the boundary between civilization and nature. The contemporary reimagining of traditional hymns and folk melodies is central to his work, transforming them through his own artistic vision while bringing the beauty of the originals to new audiences. His YouTube channel has surpassed 88,000 subscribers, and he collaborates with vocalists and artists from around the world. His music has also been featured at an official football event held at a national stadium outside Japan. ECLESIAH is the project through which SATOSHI embodies "Sacredgaze," a musical world of his own conception where prayer, silence, darkness, and overwhelming sound converge, reconnecting the sacred with contemporary musical expression.
