He joined the sound team of a game company in 1990 and has worked on numerous game music compositions since then. In 2002, he was responsible for the soundtrack of Makoto Shinkai's commercial debut film "Voices of a Distant Star". Since then, he has composed the soundtracks for theatrical animation works such as "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" and "5 Centimeters per Second". Additionally, he has composed the theme songs and music for both the game and anime versions of the "ef" series, a representative work of the game brand minori. He is active mainly in the fields of animation and game music. In 2020, he worked on the music for the animation series "LINK CLICK", produced by the Chinese streaming company bilibili. He is currently independent and leads his own circle, "Densou Gakudan".
