"Fukei" refers to a mirage, an optical phenomenon in which light bends at the boundary between cold and warm air layers, creating the illusion of an island floating in the sky. It's a phenomenon that appears clearly, yet has no substance. Singer-songwriter Mori Roman has transformed into sound the mirage-like, unrealistic landscapes that emerge at the boundary between his inner self and the external world, both social and natural, into sound. This album is comprised of a selection of songs he has written and archived over the years. This album, his first in approximately six years, further deepens the abstraction of his previous work, "Structural Color Wind," and is created by referencing inner landscapes such as memories, emotions, and sensations.
A singer songwriter based in Osaka Japan. Released in February 2026 after nearly six years his second EP Fukei takes the motif of a mirage as its central theme transforming the images and landscapes that emerge at the boundary between the inner self and the outer world into sound.
