Shushu Tsukanu Shushu
IPPUKU
"Shushu Tsukanu Shushu", IPPUKU's fourth single, explores the urge to collect, hoard and eventually forget things-and what remains after letting them go. The track blends old-school rock 'n' roll and Japanese kayokyoku with urban chord colors, a direct blues progression and a playful sense of momentum. Beneath its humorous, refreshing energy are loneliness, joy, freedom and bittersweet emotion. During the instrumental break, a catchy "shushu" chorus is synchronized with colorful hand-drawn animation, capturing IPPUKU's deliberately unfashionable yet charming character. In the music video, Nosky and his robot dog lose a carload of accumulated belongings, only to discover that the guitar and the companion left beside him are what truly matter. The emotional outro turns this playful story into a question: what should we keep, and what can we let go?
Artist Profile
IPPUKU
IPPUKU is a creative unit that blends music and animation to express the balance between romance and everyday life. Their sound draws from funk, R&B, and alternative styles, capturing the feeling of holding both dreams and the realities of daily living. The duo takes inspiration from the Sapeur culture of the Republic of Congo, a way of life that celebrates elegance, dignity, and beauty in the midst of everyday reality. Like the Sapeurs, they do not escape from reality; instead, they find and amplify its hidden aesthetics through music and visuals. From the hum of the city to the stillness of the night, they craft melodies and grooves that uncover the beauty in ordinary moments, quietly stirring the listener's emotions and memories. IPPUKU means "a short break". They invite you to pause amid the rush of life, to savor the small luxuries and open spaces that music can offer, moments that may become the romance you carry into your next step.
