-Seeing with Your Ears Picture Book Series- Special Edition: Sleepy Time ~ White Noise for Soothing Newborns to Sleep~.
This white noise piece supports newborn sleep regulation.
White noise designed to closely mimic the sounds heard in the womb is said to trigger the calming reflex (a powerful neurological response) in newborns,
leading to: Crying Stops-Sleep is Induced-Signal for Sleep.
~Usage Instructions~
When soothing a crying baby
When the newborn is crying, play at a volume similar to the crying sound.
Once the newborn stops crying, lower the volume to 65-70dB (about the same as a shower) to maintain the calming reflex.
When Putting Baby to Sleep
As bedtime approaches, play Sleepy Time at a low volume to encourage sleep.
The calming reflex gradually diminishes around 3-4 months of age. By then, it's said that the association White Noise = Sleep Signal is established in the newborn's mind.
In Sleepy Time ~ White Noise for Newborn Sleep ~,
Chopin's Nocturne Op.9-2, which incorporates the 528Hz frequency said to improve physical and mental discomfort,
is played within the white noise.
