When Night Falls on Erhu is erhu player Satoshi Harada's 2nd album. The album contains new original songs, "While Martyrs' Ashes Fall on Macau" and "Lunar Deity's Coachman," as well as a new version of "Yueya Spring," a well-received number in the first album. Fumiyo Takagi, who wrote the theme song for Nippon Television Network Corporation's "news zero", and jazz punk band KAGERO pianist Chieko Kikuchi were in charge of arrangements and piano accompaniment for several of the songs on this album. "Moonlit Night," one of Liu Tianhua's masterpieces, was played in collaboration with Kenji Azuma, a steel tongue drum player, and healing music creator. The album's last song, "While Martyrs' Ashes Fall on Macau - Final Chapter -," was re-arranged by Tomy Wealth, a composer and drummer, and the creator of songs for ANA commercials, whose new EP, Incarnation, ranked 7th on the iTunes chart. The mysterious and fictional worldview of Satoshi Harada in every sound of this album guides the listener out of reality and into a world in dark night colors.
