  amengoogoo, born in Yokohama, Japan, in 1963, is a songwriter and music producer who creates genre-defying music centered around rock and pop, using DTM and Vocaloid. He plays guitar, bass, erhu, and keyboards. His musical journey began in his teens with amateur bands and a Chinese erhu ensemble. In the 1980s, he became deeply fascinated with analog multitrack recording, experimenting with sound and recording techniques long before beginning music production with DTM in 2009. After taking a long break from music due to his professional career, he returned to creative activity in 2019. Since then, he has continued to turn his memories, emotions, and personal view of life into music. At the heart of his work are two recurring themes: from loss to renewal and from loneliness to connection. Rather than focusing on fame, success, or material wealth, his songs often celebrate human connection, small moments of happiness, memories, and the love that remains within us. Some of his songs explore the quiet happiness found in everyday life, while others look back on lost love, regret, separation, and moments that can never be returned to. From there, his stories gradually expand into journeys and adventures, exploring growth, new beginnings, and the courage to move forward. Nature, memory, journeys, light and shadow, letters, names, forests, oceans, skies, snow, flowers, and great trees frequently appear throughout his musical world. These images become symbols of memories and emotions that remain long after something has been lost. Rather than simply trying to recover what has disappeared, his music asks a different question.
