Original story by Waterbird

A lonely man runs a repair shop in a run-down town.
His daily life was quiet and monotonous, but one day, a new emotion suddenly blossomed in his heart.
Along with faint hope came confusion and inner conflict, ultimately leading to the saddest ending due to a cruel twist of fate...

This is a story where the joy and sorrow of love intertwine an orchestral folk world that beautifully expresses the ephemeral nature of love.
We hope you will experience this unforgettable story as the poignant melody seeps into your heart.

Artist Profile

  • Water bird

Waterbird, are a music duo formed in 2011 by the vocalist "nora" and composer "shinsuke." They first met after shinsuke was captivated by nora's genre-less vocals when she was performing as a livestreamer. Nora studied piano from childhood and developed her unique expressiveness while being influenced by Western music from the 1960s to 1980s, refining her singing technique across a wide vocal range. Particularly influential artists for the duo include Secret Garden, Joe Hisaishi, John Williams, and The Carpenters. Their music creates a unique sonic world by fusing classical elements with contemporary arrangements, centered around acoustic guitar and strings. Fantastical and nostalgic melody lines with nora's crystal clear vocals are distinctive features of Waterbird's music. While they previously went on a 5-year hiatus from 2020, they have since incorporated their experiences and growth during that time into their music. In 2025, the two decided to name their group "Waterbird" and started producing music again with the help of mixing and mastering engineer LUX MEVIUS, with whom they have maintained a long friendship, thus launching a new creative journey. The name Waterbird draws inspiration from Native American traditions. Water birds serve as guides to water sources, teaching us about the origins of life. Similarly, the duo aims to create music that "guides" the listener by resonating deeply with emotions and memories. Waterbird continues to pursue creative work with the goal of producing music that won't fade even after 50 or 100 years, and will be passed down through generations. The duo are pioneering a new music genre called "orchestral folk." The listener is invited to enter Waterbird's world of melodies and poetry that evokes the breath of nature and timeless stories.
