  Formed on May 11, 2020, KAFUNÉ is a Tokyo-based music unit consisting of vocalist Jinsei and trackmaker Takakuzo. In May 2024, they released "Itai no, Itai no, Tondeike" as part of the music project MAISONdes, in collaboration with Yuika-an artist with over 850,000 YouTube subscribers. The song has since surpassed 2.5 million streams. Vocalist Jinsei (born May 11, 1999, in Hokkaido) began her career as a singer in March 2017. She debuted on Nico Nico Douga, quickly rising to 3rd place in the platform's newcomer vocalist rankings, with her total views exceeding 2 million. Takakuzo (born November 30, 1999, in Kyoto) started playing piano at the age of four and later explored drums, bass, and other instruments. In his first year of high school, he studied abroad in St. Louis, USA, where he honed his language and music skills. He also writes songs for idols and other artists. The name KAFUNÉ comes from a Portuguese word that describes the gentle act of running fingers through someone's hair-a sentiment with no direct equivalent in Japanese. It reflects the duo's mission: to create music that doesn't yet exist in Japan, and that gently resonates with listeners. With catchy melodies, powerful and memorable lyrics, and genre-blending arrangements, KAFUNÉ is an act to watch closely.
