What is the true blessedness that we seek?
Blessedness cometh alike unto all the peoples of the earth.
Verily, true blessedness is the fair and unmerited love of God.

The Lord ever watcheth over us and keepeth us.
In no wise shall He forsake us, whatsoever may come to pass.

When we are cast down in deep sorrow and travail, and our eyes overflow with tears,
Surely the Lord stretcheth forth His hand of salvation unto us.
This is His unmerited love, which revealeth itself in manifold ways.
Even when we perceive it not, His love reacheth unto us.

Let us therefore pray, that we may receive the love of God.
And let our prayer be pure and true.
For a love that is clean and undefiled is precious in the sight of God.

What then is the pure love that is pleasing unto the Lord?
It is the love of faith toward God, and a pure love toward our neighbors.
As thou lovest, so also doth God bestow pure love upon thee.
He abideth ever beside us, granting us this pure love.

God and pure love cannot be seen with the eyes of flesh.
Yet the Lord is ever near unto us.
He filleth our souls with true love and with blessedness.
