Losing You

Shu Hakamada

Your memory haunts me

Our love is truly gone and will never return

Now I am adrift

Your faint voice echoes, your smile lingers in my dreams

It's time to let go, even though it's hard

I know I should forget, but I still hold on

You're always in my mind, I'm Losing You

I know I should move on but how can I let go?

You're always in my heart, I'm Losing You

Your memories follow me like shadows of the past

I still long for you, I still mourn you

Your absence echoes, your touch still a phantom caress, oh

I still hope for you, I still dream of you

I know I should forget, but I still hold on

You're always in my mind, I'm Losing You

I know I should move on but how can I let go?

You're always in my heart, I'm Losing You

Thoughts of you circle, an endless refrain

Your memories an unbroken chain

Dragging me back to you time and again

I must resist and seek new paths

I know I should forget, but I still hold on

You're always in my mind, I'm Losing You

I know I should move on but how can I let go?

You're always in my heart, I'm Losing You

When will this grief at last release its hold on me?

Will my heart ever be free? I'm Losing You

    Shu Hakamada

Hello music lovers! I'm Shu Hakamada, a Japanese singer-songwriter born on 1959. I suffered hearing loss in 2006 and was forced to give up my career as a professional musician in my mid-40s. Since then, I was away from music for over 15 years, but in 2024 I returned with a new passion.

'Restart' represents my musical rebirth, featuring a journey through diverse melodies and harmonies - from upbeat anthems to soul-searching ballads. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, classic rock and roll, and Motown, these songs explore themes of love, grief, and hope.

This album was created entirely at home, with all tracks played, recorded, and mixed by myself.

Creating 'Restart' was like rediscovering a part of myself I thought I'd lost. It's living proof that age is no barrier to pursuing new dreams. We were all born to run - to chase our passions, overcome challenges, and reinvent ourselves at any stage of life.
