Kaoru Inoue's new EP "Rhythms of Dedication" serves as a sequel to the LP "Dedicated to the Island" released for Record Store Day 2024, which garnered significant international acclaim. Featuring a remix by SidiRum--an artist from Argentina, whose talent stands out in the Slow House ~ Tribal scene--alongside self-reworks from the previous LP and a newly edited and mixed version of a song on the compilation album of the outdoor rave party "Global Ark." The EP transforms selections from the previous LP, which were rich in ambient and environmental music elements, into organic, left-field dance tracks where rhythmic elements are imprinted throughout, as the title suggests.

Artist Profile

  • Kaoru Inoue

Kaoru Inoue is a DJ and a music producer who runs a label called 'Seeds And Ground'. After playing guitar in punk rock bands from high school through his early twenties, in 1989 he came across acid jazz which led him to dive into DJ culture. Under the names Chari Chari and Kaoru Inoue, he has created numerous works and remixes, and has pursued the possibilities of alternative dance music through DJing at various clubs and outdoor festivals. Since 2003, he has continued to focus primarily on dance music releases under his real name, Kaoru Inoue. Meanwhile, his rich musicality, which cannot be fully expressed through DJing alone, is also documented in the works and live performances of Aurora Acoustic, a minimal acoustic guitar duo with Daisuke Kojima aka DSK. In 2014, he revived his alias Chari Chari after a 12-year hiatus, reborn as a live band, and released the EP 'Fading Away / Luna de Lobos' on vinyl in 2016. In 2018, under the name Kaoru Inoue, he released the album "Em Paz" on the Portuguese label 'Groovement', shifting focus away from the frenzy of dance music towards electronic and ambient sounds. In 2020, he released his first new album in 18 years, "We hear the last decades dreaming", under the name Chari Chari. In 2021, he released its remix album, "Mystic Revelation of Suburbanity". His organic electronic sound with ethnic flavors garnered significant attention. House and techno have been the core of his DJ sets and music production, but in recent years, his DJ style which blends not only dance music but also jazz, ambient, Balearic, and experimental, and his environmental and Fourth World-inspired compositions are gaining new acclaim.
