This song was written specifically as the theme song for the Kumejima Hawaiian Festival.
With the support of Hularea editor-in-chief Hirai Koji, the lyrics and music were written by Hawaiian singer KAOLI
and the song was edited by Kishimoto Kyoichi.
Kumejima is written in the old characters as kyubi.
The song sings of love in both Japanese and Hawaiian, set against the beautiful scenery of Kumejima.
Kanasand PR We are Kanasand, a group that blends Hawaiian and Okinawan music. We were formed in 2024 with duuchan from Okinawa, Kaoli from Kanagawa who has been singing Hawaiian music, and Kōsan. "Kana" means love in the Okinawan language and "Aloha" in the Hawaiian language. "sand" represents coolness and the three members, and also embodies our desire to work together as the Kana family band. We, Kanasand, respect the traditional music of both Hawaii and Japan, while also incorporating modern arrangements and pop elements. We want to provide our listeners with music that is new yet somehow nostalgic, and that soothes the soul.
