Born in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture. After working as a radio station director, he studied under recording engineer Shinichi Akagawa. Currently, he is active in field recording of natural and environmental sounds. In addition to recording for corporate orders and distributing nature sounds on his own label UZrecords, he has released the sound-scape series of nature sound albums, and his work has been highly acclaimed on J-WAVE's Ryuichi Sakamoto Radio Sakamoto.
