Hajime Nodoglaw's "Ghost Anthem" is a rock track for those who keep singing while carrying the ghost of their youth.
Each time the needle drops on a record, a youth that should have already ended comes back to life and chases after him like a ghost. Sonically, the song is driven by sharp guitars and a fast-paced band arrangement, creating the rush and exhilaration of running through the city at night, while still leaving behind a lonely, bittersweet aftertaste. As lines like "A singing hero, I'm a ghost" and "Let me sing my own song" suggest, this is a song about being haunted by the past and still choosing your own voice again.
Should you end it, or keep going? In the middle of that question, this song stands as an anthem for those who still want to keep dreaming, and who try to move forward even while carrying the youth they thought was already over.
