Kohei Kamoto to Release His First Solo Album Dangle Candle on November 26, 2025
A self-produced work that gently illuminates the quiet landscapes of sound
Kohei Kamoto - a member of DYGL and also part of Yuma Abe's live band - will release his first solo album, Dangle Candle, on November 26, 2025 (Wed).
Drawing from his experiences performing and creating music both in Japan and abroad, Kamoto handled everything from songwriting and recording to mixing and artwork himself, crafting a fully self-produced body of work.
Dangle Candle weaves gentle guitar-driven soundscapes with ambient textures, creating a calm yet immersive atmosphere. Within its lo-fi warmth, delicate melodies emerge, quietly reflecting fragments of light and shadow, and the subtle afterimages of memory.
Yuma Koda joined as arranger and co-producer, adding depth and warmth through layers of keyboards and synthesizers. The mastering was done by Hiroshi Ikeda of hmc.
For the first time, Kamoto takes on vocals himself. His unadorned voice naturally melts into the flow of the music-more like breath or warmth than words-evoking personal memories and fleeting moments for each listener.
The album will be released via Yuma Abe's label, Thaian Records.
Kamoto's new work offers a glimpse into the quiet yet luminous world of sound he continues to shape.
Kohei Kamoto, member of DYGL and bandmate of Yuma Abe, has been shaping his sound on the road and in the studio across Japan and beyond. Writing, recording, mixing, and even designing his own artwork, he takes a hands-on, DIY approach that keeps his music honest and personal. His debut solo album Dangle Candle arrives in November 2025. Sung entirely in English, the record blends the raw energy of his touring life with a wide open, genre bending palette. With ambient textures and spacious soundscapes, his songs move between intimacy and vastness, like snapshots of light, air, and motion captured in sound.
