End credits start to roll

“The End” appears so beautifully

On the screen that stole my soul

An empty can beside my feet —

This dark room’s my only field

My teammates live beyond the glass

Endless enemies attack

No heartbeat sound, no battle song —

Too quiet now, the thrill is gone

This screen becomes the border line

A wall between your world and mine

I’m the hero — savior of the world, they say

But in real life, I freeze when she looks my way

No walkthrough shows me what to do

No strategy to get me through

How do I beat this emptiness inside?

The school bell rings — my time is up

Reality’s fanfare cuts so rough

Aching deep inside my chest
