2017年にリリースした「Before Monday」は、2021年に、フランスを中心にネットで話題に！
J POP と フレンチポップスが融合し、日本語とフランス語が心地よくMIXしたスタイルが評価され、
同年10月から『世界公式インディーチャート -IndieTop Chart- 』で8ヶ月連続1位を記録。
本作は、「日本とフランスの架け橋となりたい。日本のシャンソン文化を元気にしたい。」という夢に向かって、作詞家デビュー前から書き溜めていた楽曲を蔵出し収録した作品。
10年前も今も変わらない大事な感情や、成長した愛情を、今の感性で歌に込めて。
Me Tooを歌った「The Little Bird」、イジメを経験して生まれた「Pourtant」、愛を探しもがいた「Don’t know」、不条理な世の中を描いた「Truth」など、過去の経験や想いを赤裸々に綴り、日本語・英語・フランス語でフローし、心に抱える痛みや悲しみにそっと寄り添う。
アルバムタイトル「Invincible Vamp」(無敵のヴァンパイア)は、2022年の芥川賞にノミネートされた文筆家 鈴木涼美がアルバムに寄せた。

「お砂糖とスパイスと小さな悪意で、そしてそれ以上に大きな愛で、愚者の罪も過去の過ちも正しくない感情も、許すべきだと静かに決意している。だから彼女は旅立てるのだ。(中略)彼女が作り出したアルバムは、毒のように私たちの身体に染み渡り、浸食し、やがて栄養に姿を変えて大丈夫じゃない夜を大丈夫にしてくれる、そんな不思議なものになった。毒を注入するようでいて、実際は私たちみたいな荒唐無稽な世界で逞しくなりすぎた女にたまった悪い血を吸い出してくれる、彼女は悪戯なvampだったのだ。不屈の気持ちと、無敵の笑顔の小さなvampだ。」

Artist Profile

  • Mio Koseki

    Mio Koseki is a Japanese singer-songwriter and lyricist whose music moves naturally between Japanese and French. She began her career as a songwriter, writing for artists including Kana Nishino and iKON, as well as creating and performing French lyrics for commercial music in Japan. After living in France in 2013, French gradually became an integral part of her own musical expression. Blending a distinctly Japanese sense of emotion and nuance with influences from French music, pop, R&B and contemporary electronic sounds, Mio has developed a bilingual style that brings Japanese and French sensibilities together naturally. In 2024, she was selected as one of five winners worldwide of #ChanteEnFrançais, organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and performed at Belgium's Francofolies de Spa. In 2025, she returned to Europe for a tour across Paris and Brussels, playing to full houses throughout the tour. Today, Mio continues to create music in both Japanese and French, shaping a unique sound that connects Japan and France.
