CITY/TOWN, quietly released in 2019 before being discontinued and falling out of circulation, returns as a full remake for 2026. Centered on the theme of "everyday sounds of moving from the countryside to the city," the album was pioneering in its adoption of binaural recording throughout - a technique still in its infancy at the time - fusing ASMR sensibilities with ambient music in a way that now reads as remarkably ahead of its time. In the wake of the textural sound source boom epitomized by the recent botanica movement, the original field recordings have been preserved intact while lost memories are salvaged and reconstructed through a contemporary lens. An album of nostalgia and rebuilding.
