Released last May and later expanded into a 2LP edition in December, the acclaimed album #Signals returns with a fresh breath of life, reconstructed as a remix album.
Each track takes on a new temperature and texture,
transforming into entirely different landscapes,
while still preserving the lingering essence of the originals,
it ventures deeper and with greater freedom.
From dancefloor-driven tracks to explorations across HIP-HOP and electronic music,
this project moves fluidly between genres.
From floor-oriented reinterpretations to introspective and deeply immersive approaches,
it significantly expands the possibilities of Signals.
Featuring a diverse lineup of renowned DJs and producers from across Japan, including grooveman Spot and Sunga,
the album captures the raw atmosphere of different scenes and backgrounds,
resulting in a remix work that feels vividly real and grounded.
Another version of Signals, woven through each artists unique interpretation.
we invite you to experience this new signal.
Mahina Apple is one of Fukuoka's leading singers and the vocalist of the dance music band Mahina Apple Band. Influenced by house music, the band has gained attention from the club scene for its seamless live performances, where songs are mixed together like a DJ set while retaining the warmth of live instrumentation. Their beautifully curated flow and immersive stage production have led them to perform at a wide variety of events and parties across genres. With the release of ROKU e.p. in 2018, the band embraced a more pop-oriented sound and expanded its audience. Mahina Apple's songs, often centered around themes of love and strongly inspired by dance music and party culture, have resonated deeply with listeners. As a solo artist, Mahina Apple is active not only as a live performer but also as a collaborator, working with beatmakers and singers from Fukuoka and beyond, including MANTIS (3rd STONE), a prominent figure in the local music scene. And yes, she loves watermelon.
