サウンドスケープという概念の提唱者Murray Schaferは、もともとこの言葉を文化人類学的な観点から、「視覚ではなく聴覚によって特徴づけられる固有の風景」を意味するものとして使っていたとどこかで読んだような気がする。本作Collected Sound Fragmentsに収録される楽曲は、そのタイトルからも見て取れるように、固有の「風景」というよりも、もっと普遍的な「概念」に着想を得ていうことが伺える。巧みに用いられたフィールドレコーディングからは、楽曲名にあるようなビジョンを想起させられるが、そこに加えられたシンセサイザーのレイヤーは、その単語が持つ普遍的なビジョンから逸脱し、彼が固有に持っているイメージの世界へと我々を連れて行ってくれるように思う。これまで我々が触れたことのない世界であるはずなのに、どこか懐かしい風景を浮かび上がらせてくる。そのことは、我々の脳内には実際に見たり聴いたりした体験として紐づけられたビジョンだけでなく、そこを超越した記憶が存在していることを示唆しているのかもしれない。Xの世界とYの世界が曖昧になった頭の中で、この音楽を聴きながらそんなことを考えていた。

    Hideo Nakasako is a sound creator and producer based in Osaka, Japan. Working primarily with hardware synthesizers and samplers, he weaves together environmental sounds and noise collected through field recordings, shaping them into meditative, immersive, and subtly beautiful soundscapes through repetition and texture.He shares his ongoing creative process on social media under the title Ambient Session, offering glimpses into his daily explorations of sound. In addition to his own productions, he is also active as an organizer and curator of ambient and electronic music events,contributing to the growth of the experimental music scene
