NEXT INNOVATION announces the release of "KARATACHI" the new single by The Deity, who leads the independent label 187RECORDS, on April 15, 2026.
This track marks The Deity's "full comeback," created approximately ten months after undergoing major surgery that removed half of his right lung.
The title "KARATACHI" is inspired by a plant that blooms beautifully, bears sharp thorns, and eventually produces fruit-symbolizing the full spectrum of human emotions: joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure. It reflects the process of growth through pain and adversity, ultimately leading to fruition.
The song is built around the theme of life's transitions, blending traditional Japanese elements with modern sound design to create a unique sonic world. Grand, powerful vocals intertwine with a narrative-like flow, delivering a signature expression that defines The Deity.
The music video will premiere on April 16, 2026 on the official YouTube channel "The Deity."
Filmed in Kusatsu Onsen, Gunma, under official permission from the local tourism authorities, the production took place at Sainokawara Park, which was privately reserved for the shoot. Featuring cinematography by Yasuyuki Emori, the video captures a surreal visual landscape where snow and rising onsen steam blend with light, creating a world where reality and illusion intersect.
This work embodies The Deity's self-defined concept: "Alternative Expressionist."
