A reggae deejay from Higashinari, Osaka. Armed with rapid fire lyric delivery and a flow that blends sharp rhythmic precision with a strong melodic sense, APOLLO has established a distinct style of his own. While rooted in reggae, his expression transcends genre boundaries and has earned recognition both within and beyond the scene. In 2006, he first picked up the microphone aspiring to become a rap artist. The following year, in 2007, an encounter with the reggae performance style known as RUB A DUB led him to shift his creative focus firmly toward reggae. He quickly rose to prominence, reaching the finals of Road To Yokohama Reggae Sai 2008, winning the deejay competition Dynamite XX in 2009, and claiming victory at Road To Yokohama Reggae Sai 2010, which earned him a performance slot at the festival that same year. As a young newcomer of the Heisei generation, his name spread rapidly across the scene. In 2012, he formed the crew KINKY TOWN together with fellow artists from Higashinari, Osaka, further deepening his commitment to a street centered approach. Building his career around songwriting and live performance, he released songs such as maider sos and mada, which continue to be regarded as signature tracks more than a decade after their release. In 2015, he joined Kaeru Studio, and in 2016 released his first full length album APOLLO. The lead track APOLLO STYLE has surpassed five million total views on YouTube and stands as one of the defining reggae songs of the 2010s. Since then, he has successfully held solo concerts at major venues in the Kansai area, including BIGCAT, Zepp Namba, and Namba Hatch, establishing a strong reputation as a live performer. Entering the 2020s, while further developing collective expression through works such as Kaeruno Uta created with members of Kaeru Studio, APOLLO also undertook the 47 Prefectures Street Live Tour entirely on his own. Traveling across Japan, he continues to deliver his voice directly to people through street live performances. Beyond music, he embraces camping as part of his lifestyle, extending this into the development of outdoor gear and musical projects with HISATOMI under the unit name Kyanosu, naturally connecting music with broader cultural expression. After announcing his goal of holding a solo concert at Nippon Budokan in December 2024, he released the EP Rebirth. Under the banner Road to Budokan, he continues to perform solo shows across various locations, steadily building the process toward the realization of a Budokan performance in the present moment.
