Amy Akaoka is a female Japanese salsa singer. After 10 years working in the funk music scene, she debuted anew in the salsa world. Former Orquesta de la Luz bassist Hiroyasu Ito produced her recording, which features musicians at the forefront of the Japanese salsa scene, and helped her create a super-tight sound. Akaoka is highly regarded internationally and is garnering attention as the first authentic salsa singer from Japan to appear on the scene in years.
