"Breathing" is a deeply personal song penned by Joe Takizawa during one of the most painful and challenging periods of his life-a letter to himself amid hardship.
Opening with the gentle reassurance "You're not a failure at all," it invites listeners to recall all they've strived for, the dreams they've envisioned, the love they've received, and the love they've shared-urging them never to forget these truths.
Above all, it carries a profound wish that no one surrenders to giving up on life itself.
Produced in an intimate four-and-a-half tatami mat studio, the track captures simultaneous voice and guitar recordings. Instruments were layered in harmony with the artist's own heartfelt "breathing," resulting in an arrangement infused with a warmth and humanity that no AI or machine could ever replicate.
