Mizue's first album has a comfortable, organ-inspired rhythm. From jazz to Latin, the arrangements are diverse and have a twist, making it enjoyable for instrumentalists as well. With the participation of pianist and arranger Yasuyuki Iwatani, Mizue's free and free-flowing singing voice with a bassy tone is fully demonstrated. The album contains nine songs in total, including two by bossa nova master A.C. Jobim and one by Gershwin. The album title, "Light Up Your Life!", contains the message that music can make your life shine.
Mizue's sense of rhythm, cultivated through playing the organ, and her instrumental-like phrasing shine. She has played the electronic organ since she was a child, and was influenced by fusion bands such as "Cassiopeia" as a student, which led her to become interested in jazz. She studied vocals under Eddie Mendenhall and CHARITO. Her natural, soft singing voice, along with her sophisticated groove, adds a unique depth to her songs. The rhythm and melody are exquisitely intertwined, and while she respects her jazz roots, she also creates unique, catchy arrangements. She adds her own unique arrangements to jazz, bossa nova, and Latin music, and performs live mainly in Tokyo with her unique sound.
