"Footprints by the Sea" originally appeared as the 5th track on my CD released on July 9, 2025, as an instrumental piece. Twenty-three years later, I returned to the song, finally writing lyrics for it, rearranging it with SUNO, and bringing it to life through AI using my own voice.
When I first wrote this music, I eventually stepped away from making music before I could ever put words to it. After returning to music and releasing my first CD, I revisited the song and reimagined it from a programmed arrangement with traditional Japanese instruments into a rock version. To my surprise, the lyrics came together more naturally than I expected.
More than twenty years have passed since I first created it, and I feel the song now carries a more nostalgic and emotional atmosphere than it would have back then.
I hope you'll enjoy this first release that marks the beginning of the second chapter of my musical journey.
Music Biography I began composing music at the age of 17. By the time I was 20, I was set to make my debut with a small independent label through a techno-based project. However, the label went bankrupt just before the CD was due to be pressed, and the release never happened. Afterward, I realized that my songwriting style was better suited to rock music and formed a band. While pursuing music in Tokyo, health issues forced me to return to my hometown in Aomori at the age of 22-23. There, I recruited new members and launched a three-piece band. We actively traveled outside the prefecture to perform live shows and organized our own events, inviting bands from across Japan. Our independently produced five-track CD sold over 1,000 copies within about a year. Later, after a lineup change, the band became a four-piece. Despite our efforts, we were unable to achieve the results we had hoped for, and the band eventually went on hiatus. Believing I had accomplished everything I wanted to in music, I retired from performing and stopped composing for more than a decade. In July 2019, I decided to return to music. I do not have children, but I realized I had countless songs of my own that I had never fully brought to life. Determined to give them a voice, I resumed my musical journey. Every release is based on songs I originally wrote between 1995-2003, rearranged, reimagined, and presented for today's world. As a member of Japan's so-called "Lost Generation," a generation often affected by economic hardship and limited opportunities, I want to prove that age should never be a barrier to pursuing what you truly want to do. If there is something worth challenging yourself for, it is never too late to begin.
