The album's sole instrumental piece, Negative Capability, is a truly dynamic journey that balances profound stillness with immense sonic power. It begins with multiple synths creating a heavy, yet serene atmosphere, at times speaking softly like a quiet narrator, at others flowing like a vast river.
However, the track rapidly builds into a monumental, dramatic soundscape. It employs sudden shifts and sweeping sound design to convey a journey transcending time and space. This dynamism and structural complexity directly reflects the concept of embracing uncertainty (Negative Capability). It is a masterpiece of tension and release, demonstrating resilience not just through survival, but through active, powerful adaptation. An essential listen for deep electronic enthusiasts.
Nuearz is a solo project by Japanese artist Kazuhiro Okuda. He has released two albums, "Saturation Point" and "Face Lift," from the UK label Skam Records. Additionally, he has released two albums, "Last Straw" and "Funny Bone," from his own label Logica et Natura. He also participated in the compilation album "A Sign 2" by the new Osaka label Remodel. The CDs released by Skam Records are notable not only for their original music but also for the designs by two renowned artists, Chantal Michel and Fernando F. Fonseca. Nuearz's composition style involves reinterpreting synthesizer preset sounds and music samples as pure sound movements, liberated from their historical and contextual backgrounds. By combining sounds that have never been heard before, he awakens hidden contexts and fragments of history within the music, leading to the creation of new contexts.
