This song depicts Miyamoto Musashi, one of Japan's most famous swordsmen in history, and the symbolic event in his life: the duel with Sasaki Kojiro on Ganryujima Island.

Miyamoto Musashi was born in 1582, at the end of the Warring States period. He studied swordsmanship from childhood and is said to have remained undefeated in over 60 matches and duels since winning his first match at the age of 13.

One of Musashi's most famous episodes is his duel with Sasaki Kojiro on Ganryujima Island in 1612, when he was 29 years old. This duel became Musashi's last duel and was considered the culmination of his swordsmanship.

Musashi established his unique sword style called "Niten Ichi-ryu." This was a swordsmanship technique using two swords, which was innovative for its time. In his later years, he wrote "The Book of Five Rings," in which he emphasized the importance of samurai training with two swords.

"The Book of Five Rings" is a treatise on the way of strategy, divided into five volumes titled "Earth," "Water," "Fire," "Wind," and "Void." Each volume systematically discusses strategy, and it can be interpreted not only as swordsmanship and tactics but also as a life philosophy, containing universal wisdom that applies even to modern business strategies.

In his later years, he lived as a guest of the Higo Kumamoto domain and passed away on June 13, 1645, at the age of 63. Besides swordsmanship and military strategy, Musashi also demonstrated excellent talent in artistic fields such as ink painting and calligraphy.
