As part of the series, the connection between the "star" and the self remains unchanged. However, in this work, the star is not merely something to gaze upon, but also something that is gazed upon.

I believe this song is about finding a way through the kind of night in which we begin to question even the meaning of our own existence. On such nights, we may find ourselves looking inward again and again, trying to understand who we really are.

This time, I also wanted to challenge the meaning of the word "star" itself. Rather than portraying a star simply as something that shines, I deliberately chose to depict it as "something floating in the night sky," carrying with it a subtle sense of guilt and unease. I hope that, when the song is sung, this feeling can also be conveyed.

As for the "shooting star":

It is commonly understood that a star disappears when it becomes a shooting star. But in this work, I deliberately imagined that even its remnants return to the night sky.

Human beings may never reach the end of questioning their own existence. For that reason, I see the cycle of "becoming a shooting star, then becoming a star again" almost as a form of reincarnation.

I hope these ideas are also reflected in the title, "Megureboshi."
