This album is the first collection of works in about 10 years since the release of the second album "Your Thorn", and contains 5 songs of "Electronica feat. Singing" with all Japanese lyrics, which were created last spring after a period of long break from 2017 to 2020. The sound is built with four musicians, masami.ueti, HAMADAH (NETWORKS), Hirofumi Nakamura (tricolor, John John John Festival, etc.), and Ueda Takayasu, and focuses on the song with her deep ambience. The album was mastered by Yosi Horikawa, whom she trusts a lot, and who is also a legendary musician.
The first track, "Tabibito," features an ambient guitar performance by Okinawan musician masami.ueti, who, according to cokiyu himself, "symbolizes the theme of this album. The rhythmic electric piano motifs and melancholy shoegaze flavors of the guitar and organ harmonies are complemented by positive lyrics that accelerate the pop feel of the song.
The second track, "Sanso," features bassist Hirofumi Nakamura, a performer who has collaborated with tricolor, John John Festival, singer-songwriters and dancers. In addition, HAMADAH from NETWORKS, the band that remixed "Drag The Beast" in the past, has taken charge of the drum arrangement. This is a song where the song is pushed forward more.
The third track, "Majinai", features the syncopated beat that is often found in her music. The addition of a waltz rhythm gives the song a dark yet pop feel.
The fourth track, "Shiosai", is a four-piece house arrangement, but the basic chords and melody are reminiscent of Japanese songs.
The fifth song, "Umi no Hito to Yuki", was completed after the same production process with Ueda Takayasu, who arranged and played guitar on "Star Take A Rest" from her first album "Mirror Flake" released in 2007. He is currently working as a mastering engineer and a label owner, but as a musician, he continues to output many works and is someone to keep an eye on in the future. The result is an acoustic sound that stands out amidst the electronic sounds of the song.
Born amidst the forested mountains where the Shimanto River begins its quiet journey in Ehime, Japan. Her artistic voice first emerged during her time at music university, where she explored the fringes of electronic and contemporary sound, eventually bringing her sonic world to life on stage. In 2007, she released her debut album Mirror Flake, followed by Your Thorn in 2011 - works that led her to perform across Denmark, Australia, and throughout Asia, weaving delicate, immersive live experiences. In 2016, she collaborated with visual artist Akiyoshi Kitagawa on sidhe, a multi-channel sound installation enveloping VACANT in Harajuku with haunting layers of sound and image, accompanied by a 60-minute soundtrack. After a period of quiet, she returned with the EP Koya in 2021 and Zanzo in 2024 - meditative works echoing landscapes both internal and external. Beyond her personal creations, her music has found homes in film (Confessions by Tetsuya Nakashima), television and web commercials (including for KOSE Sekkisei and SONY), animated works, and runway shows - each a canvas for her intimate and textured soundscapes.
