"Jidaraku" - A Life of Idleness
The morning bell rings, but he stays in bed.
By the time he opens his eyes, the sun is already setting.
No work.
No money.
And a tab that keeps getting longer.
Still, the sake tastes good enough,
and tonight's moon isn't half bad.
"Jidaraku" is an Edo-inspired Boom Bap track about a masterless ronin wasting his days away in a tiny tenement room.
Rice is expensive. The rent won't wait.
And even if he works hard, the money disappears as quickly as it comes.
"Leave the affairs of the realm to important men.
Leave tomorrow's troubles to tomorrow's me."
Over dusty Boom Bap drums and the dry rhythm of a shamisen, the song follows a man who has quietly stepped away from what society expects of him.
They say he used to be pretty good with a sword.
Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn't.
Either way, the sword stays against the wall.
He has no intention of working today.
Tomorrow, I'll finally get serious.
...Well.
He'll think about that
when tomorrow comes.

Moments where reality and dreams have not yet fully separated. Liminal Reverie turns the lingering presence, afterglow, and quiet atmosphere of those moments into sound. The project is built on two complementary musical axes: Japanese side: Edo Lofi Western side: Liminal Reverie Each explores a different world, while sharing the same sense of liminality.
