In the Middle of the Night

Some nights, you don't need a reason to stay out a little longer.

You step through the station gates into the cool night air,
and keep walking past the street where you usually turn.

Leave yesterday behind.
Let tomorrow wait until tomorrow.

Wandering through the city lights,
taking the long way with nowhere particular to go.

Nothing has to begin.
Nothing has to end.

You just want to stay here,
in the middle of the night, a little longer.
