Lyric : ICE DOGG
prod by, Naught
Label : Cult Records
ICE DOGG was born in 1992 in Osaka, Japan. From an early age, he experienced an unstable home environment shaped by adult dependencies, belief systems, and imbalanced values. As a result, he spent his childhood moving between several regions, including Mie, Nara, and Kanagawa. He began playing rugby in elementary school and went on to attend a nationally competitive high school, where he lived a life centered around the sport. He also competed at Hanazono, Japans national high school rugby tournament, facing strict hierarchies and intense physical demands. The discipline and endurance developed during this period later became the foundation that allowed him to continue pursuing music over the long term. After an early period of activity in Nara and Osaka, ICE DOGG relocated to Okinawa, following personal connections that led him there. While supporting himself through day labor jobs, he continued making music on the ground level, performing at local venues and staying close to the scene. During this time, he released his first album, Baby & Pussy. He later joined Darlle Records, a label rooted in reggae sound system culture, and released his second album, Doggy Life. Through these releases, his activities expanded beyond Okinawa to other regions of Japan. As a live performer, ICE DOGG has appeared at the official fan zone of an international basketball event held in Okinawa, connected to the FIBA Basketball World Cup, performing in front of large and diverse audiences outside the traditional music scene. In recent years, he has been working closely with producer Naught, entering a new phase of creative expression. He has also shared stages with artists such as Tokyo Young Vision, Kaneee, and DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia, further broadening his range through direct, on site collaborations. His discography includes collaborations with Okinawa based artists, such as Guruguru (Remix) featuring CHICO CARLITO, participation in TEAM T / HEART BEAT by YAMATO HAZE, and Makes0 featuring TORAUMA. ICE DOGGs lyrics do not exaggerate his past or surroundings. At times, he draws on specific episodes from his life, but never for spectacle. His music is built by placing lived experiences as facts, and translating them into words and rhythm from his perspective at each moment.
