"Resilience" takes the structuralist approach of "Voices carry through history," which integrates multiple eras, styles, and artistic movements, to its limits in both sound design and composition. The 12-track structure itself sonically reconstructs the nodes (intersections) of a multiverse of history and memory.
The first half (tracks 1-6) emphasizes the concepts of mobility and network in historical contexts. The structure converges from an analysis of the movement in "Caracole" to the complex interconnections of assemblages ("Plexus"), inviting the listener into a labyrinth of memory. The introduction of "JOKER" as an element of uncertainty symbolizes the unexpected mutations and contingencies in the history of expressive styles.
Exchange (tracks 7-12) shifts the focus of exploration to philosophical and internal acceptance. Track 7, "Negative Capability," employs sonically unstable textures to express persistence amid uncertainty. In particular, "Hestia" and its inversion, "Hestia Dark Side," explore the core of the collective unconscious by expressing the binary development of themes through minimalist repetitive structures and contrapuntal techniques.
Finally, the album's title track, "Resilience," integrates the complex elements that have been presented so far and reconstructs a strong yet flexible structure. The concluding track, "Cradle," is a tranquil finale in which all context is dismantled and a new cycle begins, profoundly summarizing the themes of history, reincarnation, and the constant integration and regeneration of expression. This album is more than just a musical work; it is an acoustic metafiction of eras and styles, offering listeners the joy of discovering "hidden contexts."
Nuearz is a solo project by Japanese artist Kazuhiro Okuda. He has released two albums, "Saturation Point" and "Face Lift," from the UK label Skam Records. Additionally, he has released two albums, "Last Straw" and "Funny Bone," from his own label Logica et Natura. He also participated in the compilation album "A Sign 2" by the new Osaka label Remodel. The CDs released by Skam Records are notable not only for their original music but also for the designs by two renowned artists, Chantal Michel and Fernando F. Fonseca. Nuearz's composition style involves reinterpreting synthesizer preset sounds and music samples as pure sound movements, liberated from their historical and contextual backgrounds. By combining sounds that have never been heard before, he awakens hidden contexts and fragments of history within the music, leading to the creation of new contexts.
